I think it's telling how woke Wokestar have become when Love Fist's "Fist Fury" was removed. All the other songs could be sort of understandable due to rights management, but Love Fist was a band that Rockstar made up for the game. They are the ones that have the rights to that song.

Of course, that's the least of this shitty demaster's problems. I've seen shitty Unity asset flips that look better than this awful game.

Yeah but it's very forgivable for a mod and the result is objectively good regardless.
Neither can be said for the remake.

There's a laundry list of fuckups coming out surrounding the gta remakes. Even worse is the fact Cockstar have pulled all previous versions of the game (the actually good versions) from all digital storefronts. So now, with the temporary offlining of the remasters from PC, PC players are forced to emulate if they want to play 3d era GTA games at all. You can't buy any alternative digital versions of GTA 3, Vice City or San Andreas on consoles either. They were pulled. So no ps2 classics.

The rain effect is broken, framerate unstable as fuck, fog removed, music missing, color palette is the same across all 3 games now, UE4 plastic reflective wrapper applied to everything, TONS of pop-in (invisible cars crash into you before they pop in, invisible bridges have collision but can't be seen), typos everywhere, awful-looking models and the game generally runs like shit on all platforms.

There is nothing positive one can say about the remasters without referring to the qualities of the base games. They're demonstrably worse experiences than the fucking ps2 versions GTA III in particular looks like a trash fire compared to the ps2 original. They fucked over the color palette and art direction hard.

It's a shame too, because GTA III is the one I've played the least, and which I'd most look forward to trying with minimap access and some other modern features. It's ruined though.
