Joel Hodgson pretty much failed at everything he tried to do outside MST3k. He made a TV pilot for Comedy Central called the TV Wheel and even tried to do his own version of RiffTrax called Cinematic Titanic that went nowhere either, which is why he went back to MST3k with the Netflix series.

All the more intriguing because pretty much all CA INs are obsessed with MST3K. Are they spiritual nakama, or did they take their hero worship into some kind of unconscious skinwalking?

See, I was hoping he wasn't a jerk, but there was always little signs. When he left the show they had to change some of the backstory because he owned the rights to the term "Gizmonicks". stuff like this just confirms it.

Now I'm reading 32 year old Joel Hodgson articles. These pieces remind me of early Spoony if he had gone out as a standup instead of succoming to his insecurities.
