Miles probably took the dog to the vet, who then euthanized it as the humane thing to do due to a terminal disease (most likely cancer). Hopefully that's what happened. You're absolutely right, if the dog was left to Spoony's care alone, it would die of dehydration or malnourishment.

Kinda off topic, but you do know, that Bible doesn't say anything about pets going to heaven, right? So even if you're a Christian, believing that you'll meet your pets after death is just a made up BS on top of made up BS.
