That's specifically why he looks so bloated and fat, but is also clearly an emancipated husk under it. Just empty calories and no protein.

Plot twist, Miles became a cripple from the vaccine and moved Spoony in to help him around the house, however Spoony being Spoony, does absolutely nothing except updating his Amazon wishlist and now they are both going to slowly rot.
There, this would be my "good ending" to that story.
