Therapy is like any other form of self-help, It only works if you actively want make that change. It’s a scam in the same way nicotine patches are. If you want to stop smoking, you stop.

It’s not something people generally want to hear but, if you can be so easily cured by talk therapy or hypnosis or any other self-help instruction, you probably weren’t all that damaged or sick to begin with. Noah’s probably been fucked mentally by a life-time of bad decisions/parenting and now he’s at a point where he legitimately doesn’t know what the fuck he’s supposed to do. I’ve seen this exact thing first hand.
