I said it before but I truly believe he lost all hope after his vlogs shitting on the new D&D edition came out. He was so full of himself and acting 'holier than thou' about this game edition he hadn't even played yet. In his opinion, 5e was fucking terrible and would never succeed.

And then it did. And creators and their youtube channels started to become very véry popular. The DM of the most popular D&D stream, Matt Mercer is like a D&D celebrity. People view him as one of the best DMs out there and he even gets to write on official supplements and materials. I swear this guy even looks a bit like Noah, except for the schnoz. I'm pretty sure he makes bank with all of this too and he's close to becoming, or already is, a millionaire.

The success of D&D 5e was always assured, my guest:

• It has "Dungeons & Dragons" on the cover
• It harkens back to older editions for the "I REMEMBER D&D!"-crowd, while at the same time hiding 4e stuff just well enough to appease people that didn't like 4e
• The strongest competitor Paizo has the problem of having too many diversity hires Pathfinder 2e being a stronger departure from 3.X than 1e was, with D&D 4e being too different from 3.X being what made Pathfinder big in the first place
• Unlike pretty much everyone else in the tabletop buisness, Big Daddy Hasbro has more than enough of a budget to promote 5e and sponsor podcasts and shit - and D&D isn't even their primary focus (the first couple years of 5e had a noticable dearth of supplements)

He got way too pissy himself while at it and never knew when to leave well enough alone.
He's the kinda guy to get himself worked up into a tantrum when he felt like people didn't care enough about his newest hot take.

I call it like I see it. When people get offended it's usually because there's a nugget of truth in there somewhere. I honestly didn't care about his approach to how he got his message across, so long as it did. He said what needed to be said in a lot of cases, his "coddled whiny pussies" DnD rant was another example of that. The only thing I saw was a guy getting tired and it spiralled to where he is now.

I don't really want to come across as this guy's defender, but sometimes people attack him for the wrong things. His approach in the 2010s was pretty much perfect. It's just a shame he couldn't keep it up without getting so fucked up and bitter.

Cecil (GBF) seems like a nice guy, but he has willingly volunteered to cohost with Faggot Josh for years now and used to work with LitNigX before they all drifted apart. I think he’s ashamed to associate with the latter, Josh is caustic but at least he has severe TDS libtard status like that queen Alex Jowski, who also has a drinking problem. I was going through the GBF series while looking for something to listen to while working and he unfortunately had some orange man/right wing bad type jokes in some of his 2015 onward videos.

When he rambled about the Deadliest Warrior game was probably one of the best early indications.
Especially once he got back to them after they tweeted about his uh, 'review' and he would smugly say things like "You are just WRONG" and "People listen to what I say!"
That's the kind of thing he really lived for. "Too bad" for him it couldn't last.

The worst part is that game is fun too. He just got assmad because he doesn’t understand that Bushido Blade style one hit kill potential the game uses. His gripe was he kept getting one shotted by the spartan’s spear, but as someone who played that game a ton with friends and even competitively it isn’t nowhere near as bad as he whined about. I guess the Lord of Tekken doesn’t know how to dodge.

I remember that group Video Game Awesome posted a video around the same time where they were having a blast playing the game and loving it, and of course the greasy one’s stormed into the comments to tell them they were wrong because their king had decreed the game shit.

Spoony is why I hate opinionated people. I don’t care if someone else tells me that something I like is bad, it’s not going to change my enjoyment of it. Same with tards who have groupthink mentality and say something is bad because they heard so on the internet, you might as well get a neuro uplink to Rotten Tomatoes and base all of your life decisions around them and other critics.

Haha well that's why he took a good bit of the video to explain that the game is actually NOT like Bushido Blade because REASONS! he didn't really explain.
Me, I had no opinion on it, I just thought the show that the game was based upon did not seem like something I would watch, but yeah, to me that seems like the first time the "mask had cracked", I guess more attentive people saw it way sooner, but I honestly didn't investigate his background then to find stuff like his old blog posts where he was already acting like a giant prick.

Reminds me of his response to Archfiend liking that weird Alone In The Dark reboot. (Remember response videos on Youtube? Lol, holy shit I'm so old.)
