If you purely rely on ad revenue, maybe. But a committed core audience is worth more than a wide casual audience. A Patreon buck is a buck (or 75 cents, no idea how much Patreon keeps in fees), and having retards that keep spending bucks every month, even if there has been no content for years (like a certain greasy cutlery item), that is reliable income, compared to hoping that your next "video essay" (I think they want to invoke the idea of philosophers and authors writing a deep thinkpiece, but I always think of someone in school who thinks his homework assignment is so good it needs publication. But I digress) will get x Mio views and y% audience engagement.

That being said, it is great to have this base to fall back to, but unless you are building a wider audience (which none of them have) there is little room for growth, personal of businesswise. But Failous, Alec Balding, Loyalist Hagan and the Lupy One? Not much personal growth either.

I'd be extremely surprised if Lupa and Phelous haven't seen audience drops compared to the Blip days but even then we can see from their own Youtube channels that they aren't thriving as independents. Phelous lives with his parents at 37 and Lupa lives in some gutter trash rental.
