Watching their The Blob review and it's funny that they bag on 50s Sci Fi B movies for having too much talking.
Sounds like they have too small attention spans.
Perhaps watching hours upon hours of capeshit has rotted their brains.

Isn't Mike always droning on about how much he loves "boring sci fi" like 2001 and Star Trak the Motionless Picture? I guess those old black and white movies don't have enough pretty colors for him and Jay.

Blob 88 was kino though.

I find it refreshing, honestly. There's something comfy about older tv shows that almost have that radio play feel.

The original 50’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers is 90% talking and it’s one of the best horror films ever made.

To be fair I think they were talking about the b-movie dreck - 90% of them padded out their runtime with boring technobabble because of the budget. Some are memorable, others are memorably bad, but there's a big list of films right in the middle that are forgettable.

The typical monster film of that era was 90% filmed on an unconvincing lab or police station set with people talking or on the phone.

They're basically slasher movies, except less gay since there's a lower chance that a shitty reboot will waste precious runtime exploring the deep backstory of the tortured antagonist.

Some toku show love pulling this, even having an in-universe explanation in the form of a time limit.
Didn't stop Zubat (no relation to the Pokemon) from being awesome, though.

Not a fan of "Gojira". It's a little dreary and not fun. That's how I remember it, at least. It's been several years since I've seen it.
