Was it really millions? Sure the Kickstarter ended with 2 Mil., but deducting the actual development cost and having to pay actual programmers for the 3 years? (Disregard the Kickscammer backer "rewards". There is no actual cost in giving a backer a "virtual goodie" for his character. Also there was a funding campaign before Kickstarter, where Garriott would sell his blood in a vial or other roleplaying crap, but if I recall that did not even scrape 300.000).
