Re: Movie Thread
Did anybody hear the news about a new Evil Dead movie? The remake in 2013 was alright - not classic quality, but for a modern day horror, it was perfectly watchable.
Evil Dead's a rare franchise, where I don't need a new film not because I'm afraid they'll muck it up, but because the Campbell series is such a complete package: the trilogy and the show combined have a neat beginning, middle and end. We've seen Ash go from a scared teenager to finally reaching that apocalyptic future as the chosen one(great use of the trite chosen one mythology btw). Hell, even if you don't count the show, the S-Mart ending is closure enough. Everything else is just surplus to requirements.
There's nothing that can hurt the reputation of the franchise, so it can either fall flat and be forgotten or it'll be like the remake, where it's just okay.

Re: Movie Thread
It was on Starz. People aren't gonna buy Starz just for one show. If some bigger company let them do what Starz did, it probably would've run a bit longer.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:03 pm>goofy cable spinoff gets cancelled because nobody watches it

Re: Movie Thread
It would still run to this day if it was a Netflix series.
Gender flip bootleg movies remind me of German televions. They made Genderswap Little Lord Fauntleroy, and even attempted Genderswap I Dream of Jeannie.

I need to watch Ash v. Evil Dead - I do wonder if Nigflix picks it up - they'd fuck it up like they did Arrested Development Season Five and that they will do with Cobra Kai.

Re: Movie Thread
If by picks up, you mean continue, there's no chance. Campbell's renounced the part for good. I was watching the Michael Rosenbaum podcast, where he said that he was way over his head making an action-adventure TV series at his age.CuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 1:08 amI need to watch Ash v.
