1 year is plenty of time to recover from a relationship that lasted what, 2013-2019? 6 years? People have done a better job recovering from the death of their children have.

Noah's entire life is predicated upon making up with excuses for why he does nothing. The litany of implausible diseases, fake mental illnesses, #Depression, etc. Just look through the old Patreon posts where he was making up every excuse in the world not to simply do what he was being paid to do.

This relates to his family, because this behavior has gone on his whole life. He's been caught countless times making shit up just for twitter content, like the shifting sex of his non-binary hermaphrodite psychiatrist. Can you imagine the stories he told about why he quit the job his dad got him? or why he didn't take out the trash? They likely don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth and have good reason not to.

Those old articles were great. The Eragon review was written in 2007, right before he started doing videos. Imagine the alternate timeline where he wasn't fired, causing him to miss the window on vidya reviewing. I wonder what would have become of him.

The problem he has is that he substituted pop culture shit like Star Wars and DND in where his personality should have been. Even "good Spoony" was basically just stringing references to other shit over whatever he was critiquing. So many of the TGWTG crew relied upon this, which is why most of them are miserable fucks these days. The pop culture changes and leaves them behind, and they can't hack it anymore.

This. I think one of the things that truly broke him was that he had this *great idea* on making videos about D&D and other tabletop games, which, to be fair, not many people did back then. He then did a video or two on 5th edition, declaring it the worst shit ever in his holier than thou attitude and acted like he was the total authority on all things rpg. What happened then? The world embraced 5e, D&D became more popular than ever and hundreds of (way better) channels popped up filling in that rpg 'void' on YT. Then Spoony just sat there, having missed the boat again by shitting on the book that would unexpectingly blow up tabletop rpgs worldwide again. All because his ego could not handle liking something that did not come put before 1998.
