Back when TGWTG was a thing I remember seeing a post there by MarzGurl saying that she had quit her job and was going to focus on doing videos, and my reaction even back then was "why..?" I get that relatively big names like Doge, AVGN, Joe etc would work on their stuff full time (although, IIRC Rolfe still kept doing some extra work on the side) but what prevents the mid-to-low tiers like Todd, Lupa and baldy here from working a regular job - doesn't even have to be 100% full time - and then make videos on their time off, for a bit of extra cash? It's not like they're constantly putting out weekly episodes like Linkara and Doge.

Dude Todd is making a lot of money so theres no reason for him to do this part time. You're right about Lupa and especially baldly though.

Speaking of silent film, I just remembered that I haven't seen The Man Who Laughs yet. (All I know about it is that this is what The Joker was ripped off from.) Looks like Conrad Veidt is wearing a wig in this photo. Veidt moved from Germany to England after the Nazis took over. I wonder if Film Bald is one of his descendants.

I learned from James Rolfe's latest video that a lot of elements of Batman were stolen from some old silent movie called "The Bat". This movie had a guy in a bat mask swinging around on ropes and the movie even had what we now call the "Batsignal" in it.
