When was the last time a film made good use of CGI?

Blade Runner 2049 very tastefully used CGI: other than resurrecting Sean Young's face circa 1982 (which was flawlessly done), the CGI was mainly used to enhance the models and sets. Same thing with most of Nolan's films: he has been using CGI ever since Batman Begins, but he always integrates it in a way that doesn't call attention to itself, whereas most blockbusters don't give a shit.

Chinese films outside of the thriller/crime genre are fucking addicted to shitty cgi. It's why soy wars and star dreck/capeshit seem to sell well over there too. The unwashed masses in their rice paddies crave fantasy and blockbuster visuals.
