I watched The Meg a while back. I’d been wanting to read the books for quite some time now but didn’t get around to it. I like Statham a lot, he’s got a certain charisma that can elevate the mundane, but my god that movie was chinese pandering. I got around to finally reading the book and it’s way different, the asians are Japanese and the story barely resembles the original. Like Jaws and Jurassic Park, it has a lot of human drama in the plot, but the movie carried over the idea of the giant shark and little else
The series is pretty good, as they go on the character ages and his son becomes a secondary protagonist. As far as changing the story goes, it’s not like Jaws where I’m glad the cut out the affair between Brody’s wife and Hooper, and it’s not like Jurassic Park where it’s different but in a good way.
Even though the director said there weren't going to be reshoots they did reshoot part of the movie to alter the bad guy's plot to release a virus that would kill the planet or something

How?? It's fucking boring. The plot's somehow both childishly simple and incredibly convoluted, the film is littered with thin, forgettable characters, the editing is shite(especially in the climax) and as a whole, it feels so uneventful.
I'll grant you that the underwater cinematography is very nice, but even that gets dragged out.

Heavily emphasizes the one action scene he has by himself, but it's clear Black 007 and Agent Latinx are doing all the heavy hitting. That jives with the earlier leaks that Bond is basically a sidekick in this.
Leaks from No Time To Die: Rami Malek's character is Blofeld's secret son. His guys kill Felix at the beginning, then supposedly kill Bond's wife, but not really. Bond becomes sidekick to Black 007 and Latinx Super Agent, who is also Rami Malek's girlfriend in the movie. What? Blofeld gets freed, fights Bond, gets his neck snapped. Bond goes back into retirement, leaving Black 007 in his place.
These were from before the reshoots, but everything should be mostly the same, and it WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING!
