Looks like an interesting movie, but the first five minutes is a pedo's wet dream. I checked it out from the library and was terrified about getting put on a list. Goddamn Germans.

Spent the past month watching quite a few movie series: namely, Saw and Sharpe films.

I found Saw quite interesting in how insanely fixated it was on its continuity. It's the most serialized shit you'll ever see. Like, the main character of Saw II literally took three movies to die. I'm surprised Linkara hasn't covered it yet, because it would be right up his alley. I don't think any of them are really great films - the first one came the closest, but the fact that they spent so much time outside of the Bathroom really irritated me. It's a great, claustrophobic premise, but all those flashbacks cut the tension completely.
The rest are mostly just carried by Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor and Cary Elwes.

Sharpe, based on Bernard Cornwall's books made to be the ground version of Horatio Hornblower's adventures, is quality stuff. Sean Bean's casting was lightning in a bottle. He really sells the part and it's fun to see him and his Chosen Men comrades do some "proper soldiering". They're all more or less standalones so I'd recommend them. A lot of classic British wit and decent action even with the TV budget.
