I'm in Spoony's boat. Pretty much a depressed NEET with no hopes or dreams.
I've never been a big drinker but lately I've been turning to booze just to keep myself going.
But unlike Spoony, I don't really blame anyone else for my position. I know that it's all on me.
I just can't find any glimmer of hope to try to turn things around

It sounds like he's just in the valley of nihilism. Most people stop down there because "There is no point to doing anything" when if they climbed out the other side of the trench the logical conclusion is that "There is also no point in NOT doing anything". Suddenly things seem less bleak and it's more about seizing your opportunities for the hell of it rather than doing nothing because "what's the point anyway?" There is no point, that is the point. You get to make it whatever you wish, even if it's nothing, you still are choosing it.

That already puts you above Spoony on two points. I know dhi is full of anti-medication people, but if spoons was on some proper medication and therapy, it would probably help him. Anxiety is a physical reaction and it can be corrected with physical medication and lifestyle in combination. It's not some nebulous spiritual bullshit.

It's helpful to remember that you are not some floating brain inhabiting your body. You are your body. You feel anxiety because of your body sending fight-or-flight signals when it doesn't need to and shit like that. Vit D deficiency also contributes. Really simple stuff. This is chemistry, not metaphysics. Noah loves to act like he's such a speshul snowflake and nothing can work for him. I know it sucks to feel that way, but there is help out there and many people have been where you are now and found their way back out. Definitely consult your physician if you haven't been, or continue to try things if you already are. If you have no money, medicaid and other poor person gibs are better spent on making sick people well than giving landwhales free fupa surgeries or whatever the fuck our burger health care goes towards.
