I think Spoons has a mild case of Affluenza. At the end of the day April, despite being a 6/10 even when they first met, was a pretty decent catch for Spoony. She had a tight body at least and she was into some kinky shit, the sex was probably decent during those first couple years before she refused to continue putting out on a regular basis.

It looked like she was willing to live the relatively comfortable life of a middle class housewife while working a part time low-effort retail job just to get out of the house every once in a while. That Spoony failed to meet up to those relatively basic expectations is entirely his fault.
