There actually may be some truth to him saying, that therapist couldn't help him - it's very hard for a therapist to help hard narcissist/sociopath/psychopath. First step before going anywhere would be him admitting that he is indeed a narcissist and that he needs help in changing his worldview, no way Spoony would ever do any of that.
