I just sat through Terminator: Dark Fate. My first and primary positive is that it wasn't headache-inducing fanwank like Genisys(that shit was like a Terminator film written by Linkara). My second positive is that Arnold was quite good and had stuff to do. My third and final positive is that some of the action, not all, but some was good.

It's an overlong, mediocre action film with a strangely Mexican focus. The direction is particularly terrible - there's no memorable shots and a lot of the chase scenes are weirdly sped up, to the point where it felt like a bad 60s Bond film. Linda Hamilton is terrible - I was never a huge Sarah Connor fan, but I don't remember her being a smug bitch. Not to mention, she's not remotely fit enough to do half the stuff she does in this film. Making Dani the new John Connor was a terrible idea. She was reasonably likable for a chunk of the film, but she lacks the authority and charisma to pull off the role(mind you, so did every actor who ever played John for more than 2 seconds, but at least in T2 they got away with it because he was a kid).

The antagonist Terminator is a poor man's Robert Patrick.

So yeah, all I can say is that this film didn't make me want to kill myself like Genisys did, but the plot is so stupid that it has to be the second worst of the series. Mind you, the battles are much better than the ones in Salvation, but at least that film has a good excuse to exist. Dark Fate is the worst kind of reboot that throws out all the good stuff, but fails to replace them with anything better or even equal.

Because she wasn't. In 1 she was mostly scared shitless and in 2 she was paranoid and angrily determined.

Linda Hamilton was the weakest part of the first two Terminator movies. Luckily neither of those movies were about her character that much.
