What's the responsibility of a truck driver? Driving is one aspect. Securing the goods is another. Delivering the goods yet another.
So the truck drives by itself. Who unloads it? Who secures the new load? Who gives it a go signal to start driving again?
According to our law the delivery isn't finished until you have transported the goods inside my storage. Is the truck going to do it? Who secures the load if I load it up? Sure, could be me but if shit happens who's stopping me from saying it wasn't secure when it arrived? What's stopping me from stealing from your truck? Who signs the papers for the delivery? Who tells the truck to park where? What if the goods I need require a forklift to unload but I don't have one? Are you just going to tell me to go fuck myself and buy one just for you? Can the AI handle a tire blowing out?
There's always going to be a guy in the truck. You might as well have him drive it.

Automated cars just won't work. Streets are too chaotic for that. Any mode of transportation that could feasibly be automated (aka trains and subways) already has been partially automated for years.
