Re: Star Dreck
Certainly better written.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Star Dreck
You mean the actor is just an old guy who doesn't give a fuck about anything other than easy adulation and money? Say it isnt so!
Happens to nearly all of these Hollywood types as they get older. They realize they can just do what they want and get away with it, so they just strip mine nostalgia, laugh, and move on to making more things about themselves. No matter what they do, they know they can walk into a room and make fans lose their shit.
The only reason this didn't happen to Shatner is that his ego won't let him take part in something mediocre or where he looks bad.
He ironically protects himself.
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

Re: Star Dreck
I don't think you're giving Shatner enough credit. He knows he's an old man and doesn't have to prove jack shit to anyone anymore. He's got his horsie ranch and just enjoys his retirement. That's something the Pedowood gits just seem unable to do. Gotta star in something until the bitter end because nothing but fame and getting pampered on set gets their dicks hard anymore.

They're like the original INs or something.

Re: Star Dreck
just finished watching episode 9
further hinting towards Picard's death - they're really pushing his terminal illness and he's doing goodbyes and all the other cliches.
There's a random new member of the Brent Spiner mad scientist family, who I guess spent the whole of the Next Generation era under a rock. I do like how they continued the Star Trek Enterprise trend of Soongs being assholes willing to let everybody die for their creations.

Also, Shatner made The Final Frontier, by far the most entertaining TOS movie after Wrath of Khan.I don't think you're giving Shatner enough credit.

Re: Star Dreck
My guilty(?) pleasure is enjoying all six original trek films, even the odd number ones that the media says we're supposed to hate. I don't see anything wrong with "The Search for Spock" and have no idea why it's labeled as "bad".
Final Frontier is an entertaining movie and I pray to Sha-ka-ree that Paramount lets Shatner do his director's cut while he's still with us.

III is just kind of forgettable aside from the Enterprise's destruction. I guess people usually watch it after Wrath of Khan and that's why they think the quality drops off?Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 7:46 pmMy guilty(?) pleasure is enjoying all six original trek films, even the odd number ones that the media says we're supposed to hate. I'd agree most of the TOS films are ok, though personally I don't care for The Motion Picture(Star Trek shouldn't try to be 2001) or The Undiscovered Country(overly political).
And to take a page out of Kugel's book, I'd be cynical enough to suggest the Star Trek films often feel like aging actors of a popular old show trying to stay relevant. Until the JJ films, when it's about actors who weren't in the popular old show trying to stay relevant.
