It's called Covert Narcissism, and it explains 100% of Noah's behaviors. He checks everything off. He fears rejection and needs a constant source of praise (before it was youtube, now his twitter). This is why he doesn't treat his show as a job rather as just something to feed his ego. He has this image of a perfect life, which can't happen, that's why he's so down and depressed and won't work on some measly youtube show no one watches (and he gets more of a high from twitter anyways). He is King Spoony the Great and he deserves to be a celebrity and to have a great life and to have a loyal girlfriend.

Because his self-image is so insanely big he can't accept any responsibility for anything. He is just the victim of a cruel and unjust world. So he sees no role in April leaving him, or his house being foreclosed, those are circumstances beyond his control. He just wants April back but without doing any work to do it. He likes to point out his suffering on twitter out all the time to get sympathy, but that's just to feed his ego (which demands constant attention) rather than to get actual help.

All the problems stem from his massive insecurity, which leads to covert narcissism as a coping mechanism. All of this comes from his childhood and is way too late to fix. Parents: Do not raise narcissistic children please!

I would say he has a good shot at dying around 45 due to his malnutrition and alcoholism. And the two are closely related. Turns out you can't survive on soda, ramen, and booze.
