Re: China
You burgers laughed about Venezuela's toilet paper shortage! Haha! Now where's your capitalist God now, America? All it's missing is for you to elect Bernie in November! #FrelTheBern #NoToiletPaper

This is what they should do for the plot of the next Purge movie.
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

Re: China
That's actually in Sydney Australia. On Wednesday suddenly everyone bought stupid amounts of toilet paper because they thought there would be shortages even though 11 out of 14 manufacturers are Australian. Supermarkets are now imposing limits on how much you can buy to stop morons buying a whole fucking trolly full.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 4:35 pmYou burgers laughed about Venezuela's toilet paper shortage! Some cunts are selling that shit on eBay and Facebook calling it "rare" like some newfag collector calling Super Mario Bros on the NES "rare" on their listing.
I'm still not 100% sure how this started but it seems like a rumour started that all of our toilet paper is made in China. Other things like canned food and pasta aren't going anywhere near as fast.
I love my shitposting nation.

I thought with the way you were talking about SXSW that it was your city. I know Austin is different, it's pretty much a Californian enclave and is probably where all the Californian immigrants move to.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 2:14 pmI live in Dallas, actually. To outsiders, I understand that might all seem like the same shit, but to Texans, they're very different.

Re: China
There is no actual reason behind it other than people being very dumb and their horizon being very, very limited.
When I closed my store we sold everything 20% off. Toilet paper was the very first thing that was sold out.
It's fucking weird. When you tell people to stock up on stuff all they can think of is toilet paper. Not canned food that lasts a cool three years, not butter or bread you can keep in the freezer for weeks or months, not tea or coffee that's last for well over a year, not booze that will keep forever if unopened and will have a good trade value. Toilet paper is the only thing that comes to those idiot's mind. Even going for paper kitchen rolls is too much of a cognitive leap, despite it usually being in the same shelf or at least isle.
Me personally, I've got enough canned food, sausage in jars, long lasting bread and all kinds of other stuff in my little storage room to be able to stay in my apartment for at least two weeks no problem. Not just now but always.

And this was barely bought. Not even booze was bought more than normal.

I’m gonna stock up on ammo. I’m not worried about the virus, but if shit does get bad having a loaded gun gives you some leverage when you need it. Also it I don’t have to use it I’ll have a field day at the range when all of this blows over.

Re: China
Ammo should always be bulk bought anyway. I buy mine via my club together with a couple of members to maximize the discount.
Booze and free medicine is also always good to have for trading. The latter is always in demand and the former especially so when times are bad.

Re: China
There's never a good reason not to have some booze, medicine and food stockpiled. Worst case scenario is you'll use it eventually anyway.

Even if you don't drink, the booze will last damn near forever if you buy eighty proof or higher. And there are alternative uses for alcohol than drinking it.
