Re: Nasty Cockslut aka Uncle Linky
Somewhere out there.... there's the next Ridley Scott.... and I guarantee you he's probably working 3 jobs just to earn some cash to make his first low budget film..... meanwhile you have these TGWTG's yoyo's making bank just to film some shit that should never be more than a 10 minute youtube video.
DHI Faggots pout and get mad because I tell them like it is then they have the nerve to call me a Pussy
I'm not the one getting emotional over the truth. You fuckers need a real hobby outside masturbating on the internet to internet nobodies.

Consider this. These fucks collect 60 thousand dollars (I'll just go with that figure) to make a movie and produce shit like Atop The Fourth Wall The Movie or The Cinema Snob Movie. Meanwhile in the 90s, with less access to filmming equipment and modern editing and effects software and working with a budget of 7,000 dollars, the equivalent of just $11,866.33 today, Robert Rodriguez made El Mariachi. Hell even Kevin Smith managed to make Clerks on half the budget these fuckers raise.

I guess that's the difference between talent and hard work vs appealing to and exploiting, other losers like yourselfWhybother wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2017 1:18 amConsider this. Also, those guys understood how to work a budget since they'd been to film school. All of Lewis' experience comes from being on the anniversary special.

Re: Nasty Cockslut aka Uncle Linky
It's worth noting that the movies you guys are bringing up were also shot on film. Not only was film expensive, but you had to pay for the camera rental, the processing of film, editing, and all sorts of nifty expenses that come from having to do things the old fashioned way. And as you may recall, there are no sets in the film, as everything was shot on location at a real strip mall. Literally, almost all of the budget for Clerks was eaten up by the camera equipment.
Here Kevin Smith's budget on Clerks. If you've got your calculator handy, you'll note that the total is pretty darn close to the budget cited elsewhere online, and a lot of that goes toward the camera and film.
The point to all this is that the burdens faced by guys like Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Smith are non-existent to someone like Lewis, who now has the luxury of transferring all "footage" to a flash card to be edited on a non-linear system, which is space age shit compared to what these other men were doing back in the early-to-mid 90s. Even the black-and-white film used in Kevin Smith's movie is substantially more costly to film with than what Lewis had available to him.
Forget the $64,000 that Lewis raised. His initial asking cost was $40,000, which is still WAY too high for a movie that is primarily shot on a sound stage with a single set built and some laughably bad CGI, plus the accommodations and airfare for the guests in the movie. Call me cynical, but I don't see how any of this cost $40K.
In fact, I see no evidence that Lewis even bought new recording equipment for the movie. There is no discernible difference in video or audio quality when comparing the movie to the videos he shot months or even years prior to it.
Heck, AVGN bought a Panasonic AF100 for his movie (shown here), which is a very expensive camera, but was totally affordable to Lewis given how much more his funding went over the initial projected budget.
TL;DL: I don't know what the fuck he spent the money on.

Re: Nasty Cockslut aka Uncle Linky
There's no doubt he'll write every story and have a lot of screentime in every story, the question is will he have other TGWTG contributors be the main characters? He should bring in Brad and others to play the leads in the stories but Linky is so egotistical he'll probably have each story focus on characters he plays in Atop the Fourth Wall. I can't wait to see a horror short film about 90s kid.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 3:46 pmHow likely is it that an anthology movie would have all stories written by him, with most - if not all - characters also played by him?

90s Kid is such a deep character. You wouldn't believe the shit he went through that forced him to seek solace in the only decade where he was ever happy.

Atop the Fourth Wall: The Movie just scratched the surface, in Longbox of the Damned: The Movie we'll probably learn a lot about his tragic past.

Re: Nasty Cockslut aka Uncle Linky
Yeah, back in the day indie filmmaking was a lot more complicated. Christopher Nolan made Following on a budget of $6,000 and the vast majority of the budget went to the film stock. He couldn't afford a lighting crew thanks to the film stock and the film stock he was used was black and white 16mm which was the cheapest option. Nowadays you don't have to worry about any of that shit, you can get a decent professional grade HD film camera for less than $3,000. The funny thing is I don't think Linkara pocketed the indiegogo money, he probably innocently wasted it. Him and the rest of TGWTG take incompetency to a whole new level.Mister Show wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2017 5:01 pmIt's worth noting that the movies you guys are bringing up were also shot on film.
