Should've stuck to a simple Lantern Sentai, imo.

The way these Latern Corps are powered by their emotions is also pretty inconsistent. Everyone powers their ring with an emotion they have - except for the Sinestro Corps (aka the main bad guy Lanterns besides those other yokels with the rage cat), who are powered by fear, but not fear they have, but rather fear they inflict. They're the first non-Green Lantern Corps introduced, and yet they don't quite fit.
I'm also not sure how that'd work for limit break purposes. A Green Lantern can just willpower harder than he has ever willpowered, but a Sinestrofag... makes a scarier face?

Nah, I'm going to give him credit for at least trying to make Green Lantern stuff interesting. Nobody cared about them since the Green Arrow Blackskins stuff in the 70s. I think it's actually a neat twist that all these arings are powered by space bugs--fits with the whole theme of "who made YOU the self-appointed space cops of the universe?" suspicion most beings would rightly have.
He also did the Blackest Night arc, which did not end in everything getting resurrected. Most stories he writes end up with characters back--but with definite changes to what they are and how they relate and some new stuff too. (See Flash, Red Lanterns, Aquaman, etc.)

As for everything reverting back to the status quo--thats more the nature of capeshit than the writer. Dont get me wrong: Johns has plenty of flaws (such as not knowing how to write good fucking endings/followthrough for his premise).
But I cant really blame him personally so much as the medium for doing what it always does. [You may as well blame every current writer....which wont change a thing].
