Lmao, that's exactly why I don't want to try Persona, Otter. Faggoty high school kids and their first world problems doesn't sound too great.

The only weebshit I've played recently was the Zero Escape series. They were interesting enough to make me not regret spending money on them.

Another simple way of classifying it is that any series which looks like high school anime is probably at least derived from Persona inspiration (especially now), while anything that looks weird as fucking hell is probably derived from SMT proper. As aboveup said, there are some titles that have confused things, although I'll always consider Devil Survivor more a Persona than SMT.

SMT 3 begins with the end of the world and your character's death and rebirth as a demon. That's pretty typical for what I imagine as a setup to SMT games. Digital Devil Saga is about a gang of demons living in a post-apocalypse. Strange Journey I haven't played in forever, but I think it was about an expedition into a demon zone, with implied apocalypse happening back in the real world.

As you journey through SMT games, you typically encounter characters who represent the extremes of moral choices (and like aboveup said, it's intentional and you're not supposed to entirely agree with anyone). That's especially true of SMT 3. SMT 3 is the height of the series for me. Anyway, you can make a decision about which viewpoint you think is most accurate in this twisted hellscape and ultimately remake the world as you wish at the end.

Even old Persona games like P1 and P2 had teenagers in them and high school shit. It's been that way since the beginning.

The Demi-Fiend was also a high school student, but school didn't matter in that one.
Persona is basically any SMT game where the school is a main set... wait, that was also true in SMT If, which I guess makes it a precursor of Persona I guess.

The whole turning into a demon thing isn't really the standard, though it happend a lot in the PS2 era.

In SMT1, you're just a normal high school student (again) who had a weird dream and got a fancy wrist computer shortly before friggin' demons invaded. Most of your party is actually comprised of fellow humans.
SMT2 is set a while after 1 in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

In Strange Journey you're practically Doomguy, thrown into a wormhole with a military crew to kill demons.

That is why its perfect for spoony, a guy who gets stressed out trying to figure out how he can keep making 1000+ free moneys a month while doing nothing.

I wonder how long it will be before Spoony goes CWC and makes a video begging for money, auctioning off stuff? "Our bank accounts are low, please donate anything over 10 dollars."

There is no way Spoony would make a video in which he begs for money. Turning a camera on and talking is so much work afterall...

The closest we may get to that is a tweet where se says something like "I've made a video where I talk about my financial troubles. Now I will be editing it for 10 months, so please start donating."

I wonder if we have an internet nobody for each deadly sin. Spoony's sloth and Boogie is gluttony, those two are a given. How about the others?
