Re: Movie Thread
Silence is great, but I also kind of liked Manhunter with Brian Cox as Hannibal.

Apparently the author didn't want to write anymore Hannibal so he just trolled everyone with the last two books.Rushy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 9:52 pmWatching the 2001 Hannibal and I'm really not impressed by it. I've never seen a Hannibal Lecter movie before, but about an hour in and it's been a load of waffling about. I appreciate Hopkins' Shakespearean performance, but it's just lost in a very dull detective story.
Gary Oldman isn't bad as the wheelchair millionaire creep and he could use more screentime. The amount of filler is astonishing.

I would've thought that Rushy, having Brian Cox Hannibal as his avatar, would have at least watched that.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 10:30 pmSilence is great, but I also kind of liked Manhunter with Brian Cox as Hannibal.
He wanted to write Hannibal it was just shit. It's Hannibal Rising he didn't want to write

I watched his scenes on Youtube ages ago actually. I thought he was more effective than Hopkins.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 10:36 pmI would've thought that Rushy, having Brian Cox Hannibal as his avatar, would have at least watched that.
The latter is very watchable, but Brian Cox Lecter is the one I'd legit be scared of because he's so implacable and droning in his questioning.

Go watch The Silence of the Lambs and Manhunter right now. It's utterly baffling that you started out with Hannibal.

Allegedly the CGI de-aging on De Niro is really awkward looking, I'm game to see the movie, though.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 12:13 pmScorsese's film The Irishman apparently had its premiere. It's got De Niro, Pacino AND they managed to wheel out Joe Pesci too. I think I'll watch it, even though De Niro is old and hasn't been good in years. Maybe Scorsese can coax one last good performance out of him

I can't believe anybody is actually excited to see a Scorcese movie in the current year, much less some Blobert DeNegro tripe. Faggots who fawn over that boomer dago wop shit are worse than capeshitters.
