Re: Movie Thread
I just watched Lords Of Salem and I feel like I lost two hours I'll never get back.
Of course you can easily make a case that all Rob Zombie films are shit - in fact, I'd say they are given that his career is pretty much just aping the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and other trashy 70s-early 80s horror. But I'll say that at least he's a peg above the generic haunted house baloney most horror has devolved into. I'll take a crappy homage with flashy imagery and a good soundtrack over contemporary horror.
Problem is, Lords Of Salem is Zombie trying to go "out of the box".
The story is basically there's a chick going crazy in her apartment and then Rosemary's Baby happens. Stretch that sentence over two hours of slowly increasing lame satanic imagery and goofy cultists. There are no memorable characters. No subplots. That's it.
I swear there's like a ten minute segment where there's even no dialogue, it's just a montage of weird-ass shit that tries way too hard to be avant garde. At one point his wife rides(no, literally just sits on) a goat waving her arm about in slow-motion.

Jesse Pinkman was pretty fucking boring in Breaking Bad when he wasn't interacting with Walt, Jesse alone sucked. BCS had a strong start, but the latest seasons have become quite dull and repetitive. Must say I don't expect anything at all from this film, but I'll watch it regardless.Rushy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 1:21 pmPumped for the Breaking Bad film
I know the consensus here is that it should've ended at season 4(which, to make a long rant short, is idiotic because thematically, nothing would've been resolved with Gus's defeat - dude wasn't even in the show until season 3 - it was about Walt and his change, which culminated in season 5), but so far, everything produced in this franchise has been damn fine.
And I don't mean my usual Star Wars "I enjoyed them all" defense. I would legit put up a defense for the whole thing - Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and the notion of adding an epilogue to Jesse Pinkman's character with this film.
So yeah, bring it on.

Deep.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Movie Thread
I do resent half of the show being about Mike. It's like they used the fact that he vaguely knew Saul(only bc the actor playing Saul himself wasn't around that day) to squeeze him in and then decided not to bother explaining that connection too well and just using him to do a prequel plot about Gus building the superlab and crippling Hector.veris leta facies wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 8:56 pmBCS had a strong start, but the latest seasons have become quite dull and repetitive.
If it wasn't for the fact that Lalo's entire character is based on Saul mentioning his name once waay back in season 2 of BB meaning that he'll have to get involved with the Mike side of things, I'd be proper worried.

Ah, yes. The Hollywood Stripper who never actually strips. Back in the '90s filmmakers wouldn't have put up with that bullshit, but today's directors are all cucked. That's why Emily Blunt can act like she's Hollywood royalty and an unknown Margot Robbie can demand expensive cg nudity instead of taking her damn clothes off.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 3:50 pmFunny, I'll always remember her for taking a role as a stripper in Sin City and then refusing to take off her clothes for the part.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 11:22 amI'll always remember Jessica Alba taking her clothes off in the Fantastic Four movie. Then trying to claim she was a serious actress

It was the only Zombie film I hadn't seen save for the cartoon. I just figured I'd complete the set, so to speak

Re: Movie Thread
The CGI nudity is infuriating. But I do suspect that sometimes the sex/nudity is actually real and the actresses lie about the CGI. They don't want to admit they touched Shia LeBeouf's dick or whatever.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:45 pmBack in the '90s filmmakers wouldn't have put up with that bullshit, but today's directors are all cucked.
