Re: Movie Thread
Twenty years ago someone like Chris Hemsworth would have been able to open a movie. Even Leo can't open at number one anymore. The industry is changing, likely for the worse.
It: Chapter Two is a fucking mess, by the way. Completely fucked in terms of tone, way too blunt and clocking in at about 170 minutes. The days of Stephen King adaptations where someone like a Stanley Kubrick could look at The Shining, keep the bare essentials of the source material and gut everything else are long behind us.

Is that scene in the movie? It'd be so progressive!

Its not in there, but there's plenty of stuff left that should have been cut or retooled.

Re: Movie Thread
Funnily enough the guy who wrote the script for the first movie put it in there but the execs told him to take it out

They're probably saving that scene for the animu adaptation.
Didn't think I'd ever say this, but it seems they should've made this a trilogyCuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 10:22 amIt: Chapter Two is a fucking mess, by the way. Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Movie Thread
They want a third movie to expand on Pennywise's backstory, you know, the worst part of the book?
If its true that the studio cut the child gangbang sex pervert stuff, then maybe I'm laying too much of the blame on them for both It 1 and It 2's blunt and stupid scripts.
King is a hackfraud in a lot of ways, clearly.

Re: Movie Thread
Well you mentioned The Shining. He fucking HATED The Shining. He was so assblasted by Kubrick's film he did his own TV miniseries.
That's probably why they aren't any King adaptations like it. Not because of lack of talent (although that's probably part of it). More because the filmmakers are overly deferential to King and don't want to piss him off like Kubrick did.

Of coirse the Kubrick version is well regarded today as a masterpiece of psychological horror. The Shining miniseries is only brought up to discuss how assblasted Stephen Kang can get.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 5:21 pmWell you mentioned The Shining. He fucking HATED The Shining.
