Sword and Shield looks like the set up for a massive fan exodus from the franchise. I won't care if gamefreak goes away, since they haven't made a good pokeyman game since the original DS era. Every 3DS pokeymans game is worse than the last one and they're all worse than the ds games.
And what a stupid argument. The games may just be a merchandize vehicle but if that shit crashes, so does the merchandize. Go ask toy stores how well Star Wars stuff is doing right now. Especially anything with the Disney trilogy characters.

If it had fully redeemed itself and was now super awesome you would've heard about it by now. Instead I had to think for a full minute to even remember that game's name.

I'd like to say you're right Kugel but "voting with your wallet" nowadays just means "walk away from that shit". Millions upon millions of retards will replace you once you get out and show them you don't care about their product because that's how they're programmed nowadays unfortunately. Like tictac said, it doesn't work anymore because these things have become "too big to fail" so the only to win this rigged game is to exit it. Even Desitny 2 unfortunately, is doing well enough and has enough bases to continue without Bungie and turn profit due to reduced labour and reused assets. Anthem is the parallel you're looking for since that fits far more the situation.
Meanwhile I'm still here, playing my austic laser sword robot games on the PSP from a decade+ ago, like the sad cunt I am.

That doesn't matter a single bit. Every single person that stops giving money to that shit is important. There is no such thing as "too big to fall". A company doesn't need to make actual zero dollars to go down the shitter. They just need to make a lot less than they and more importantly the stockholders expect.
Star Wars still makes fuckloads of money. But what happened after Soylo and TLJ "bombing"? Loads of crap that was already planned got cancelled. What about Galaxy's Edge in Pissneyland? A massive failure. Disney is maybe in the strongest position they've ever been in on paper with a stranglehold on much of movie entertainment. But the ground floor is on fire. Shit just needs to be bad enough for long enough and heads will start to roll, change will come.
Or what about Marlel? Nobody but normalnigger fuckheads and soyfiends watch the garbage movies. Nobody reads the comics. Thing with normalniggers is that they will eventually just get bored and find some other shit and the soyfags alone can't keep the trash alive either - especially because they don't even want to. They are just as much blind trend followers because those soulless bugmen just look for something to put in the spot where humans have personality. If Marlel has no prestige to offer left, they too will move on like the locusts they are.
If "too big to fail" was a thing, we'd still see nothing but cowboy movies in the cinemas. Giants fall. All the time. Because time can even more glaciers.
