Dragonbored was part of anthology called The Uncanny Valley. Flying everyone out to do a movie was getting more expensive so they went with an anthology movie for the fifth anniversary. It wasn't very popular so they never did another one.

It did seem like a downgrade from the massive epic quest plotlines, but I remember genuinely liking Dragonbored, it was a clever short film.
