Trump is not like Bush. Bush was a Republican but he was still one of them. He was with the program. He was acceptable even as they scuzzed him mercilessly 24/7. Go look up pictures of Dubya snuggling with Michael Obama. He may be a dopey hillbilly, but he was THEIR dopey hillbilly.

I do agree that the media wouldn't know what to fucking do if he loses. But it's not all just opportunistic reporting they do. They are legit asshurt and asshurt badly. Normally, any election is a win-win. No matter who wins, FOX or CNN get to either be anti or pro president for four years straight. Easy planning, easy work, easy money. With Trump, neither really know what to do. CNN has got it relatively easy but FOX doesn't know what to make of him.

They were told that he's worse than Hitler, they told them in polls that it was useless to vote for him because he'd lose extremely, they, everyone, told them to not vote for Trump. But they did.
No matter how objectively it should be great for them to see Trump get re-elected, they are still not over losing control over the narrative. They completely lost the control over the population and they will never ever get over that.
