Midnight's Edge may be MCU humping nerds but they're pretty informative.
I agree. The current clusterfuck that is the Star Trek franchise was explained perfectly by them. The rights issues specifically. It kind of blew my mind.

Though here's hoping this Spoydermon deal will become a bigger issue for both Sony and the MCU.

So much work just for a gay Sinister Six franchise nobody wants.

Introduce Scarlet Spider already, bitch!

Capeshit needs to fuck off and die ASAP, so I'm hoping Sony say "fuck you" to Disney and don't renew the contract. Then Sony will be able to crash and burn the Spider-Man franchise a third time, and such a colossal fuck-up might make braindead consumers a bit weary about capeshit.

No, it wouldn't. It would just give more power to Marvel and Disney with yet another non-MCU capeshit movie flopping.
Is Spoony dead yet?

At this point the actual capeshitters are gonna have to literally die for this shit to stop. It's like waiting for a Communist dictator to die, because theres no system that'll knock him out of power before his natural expiration date so you gotta pray for Bob Iger to stroke out because otherwise nothing is gonna ever get done.

Firstly Iger's stepping down in 2021. Secondly, there is a system in place to knock him out of power, Roy E Disney implemented it in two separate 'Save Disney' campaigns, the latter of which led to Iger being appointed in the first place. Thirdly and finally, much like your communist dictator analogy, getting rid of the CEOs or whatever doesn't mean the whole thing will collapse. More than likely all that will happen is that someone equally as bad, if not worse, will just take their place.

You're not going to convince the studios to stop making capeshit films or big international blockbusters generally, so long as they continue to make the studios tons of money. What you really need is a crash similar to the one that killed New Hollywood

Imagine spending a billion US dollars to be a loser. Could've watched animu and be one for free.

That don't work. One Castro dies, another takes his place. Only reason Russia stopped going Soviet was because they were tired of subsidizing everyone else, and all the people in power--from the Politburo to the gangsters--decided it wasn't worth trying to corral the notoriously crazy citizens (Communism works in Asia because the Orientals are used to sitting quietly and not making a fuss). Also, they wanted more money.

Eisner's problem was that he continually tried to dictate what the Imagineers and animation people could do and build. It did allow innovation at the beginning when Frank Wells could throw half his ideas out of his helicopter. Later on it grew unchecked and just ended up pissing the wrong people off (in addition to being shit).

Iger sat back and let them have better park experiences and draw what they wanted, throw popular IPs around to draw crowds, and just let the degeneracy continue everywhere else.
It worked because their core demographic (essentially a bunch of Lindseys) were pleased, and the rest of their orbiting soyboys also had some undiluted autism to distract themselves.
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

JK Simmons is still Jameson, Mysterio reveals Baby Spider's identity, and Fury is a Skrull.

Nobody cares. Stop thinking about movie. Just consume product and then wait and consume next product.
