They could always drop it at Buu. Thats what the nips did with Kai until years later when they shit it out to fill a cancelled time slot.
Re: TFS got copyright struck again
It would have to be like that RWBY show where they have it on some service like Netflix and/or sell DVDs of it. No way can they do something like that on youtube, animation is not profitable on Youtube. They changed the algorithm which benefits let's players at the moment, and that fucked over Animators hard since before short videos could get you money. Remember when reply girls, people like Ray William Johnson and Shane Dawson were popular? That was because youtube's system encouraged short crap since views were the only thing that mattered, which benefited animators who make short sketches. That's not the case anymore and many animators who made it know it.
It's why Egoraptor stopped making animations, even though he was clearly big enough to run a successful patreon and had an opportunity to work at FUCKING FOX ANIMATION but blew it because he wanted to sleep in until 12pm rather than get to work on time.

Let's players and podcasts are the new jewtube future.
This relates to DSP shit as well, because DSP chops all his videos into little pieces and then made them even shorter after machinima told him his engagement was down. Lulz.
I think it's more a case of YouTube finally noticing what people want to watch, and simultaneously realizing you can play more ads on a video for longer periods of time if the viewer is using the video as background noise.
The short reply girl video style doesn't work anymore, and here's DSP uploading 2 minute street fighter episodes.
But I still think Egoraptor should have developed his animation and sequelitis shit, even if not every episode was a winner. It was something uniquely his that gave people a reason to seek him out. Once kids forget about Game Grumps and new kids latch on to some other let's players, he'll notice a steep decline in interest IMO. Look at Yahtzee. The man found a niche where he could do something unique. He made people seek him out. He has a stable job and stable income and he has had that stable job for a long time. He'll probably always have opportunities to make money for as long as he is willing to continue ZP. There were some ZP imitators, but most either died or branched off and he's still the original. He still makes bank. Fuck, ZP is on Hulu now.
The same could have been true for Egoraptor.

Nursery rhymes and family shit is where the real money is anyway. Parents leave that shit on auto play for their kids and the YouTube app doesn't block ads, and with there impressionable minds you can advertise toys and cereal and shit and have it actually work, it also plays all the way through which is how YouTube gauges it

This times hundred. I remember listening to a segment where some youtuber said he moved on from making prank videos to those shitty spiderman fights hulk who cucks frozen bitch kiddie stuff and was making hand over foot in views. There is even an app just for kiddie youtube that does nothing but auto play videos.mad bum wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 4:37 amNursery rhymes and family shit is where the real money is anyway. So I always laugh whenever these youtube nobodies cry about their job or integrity or whatever. Youtube doesn't give a shit and always goes for the lowest common denominator.

Kinder egg videos make bank as well. Little kids look up videos about kinder eggs, don't know shit about adblock. Probably obsess about those few videos they really, really liked and rewatch it multiple times.

How much animation would they really have to pay for to appease their fanbase? I mean, 95% of all dialogue scenes in all of these abridged series are just static shots from the animu where someone has photoshopped in some moving mouths.Poonoo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 3:13 amIt would have to be like that RWBY show where they have it on some service like Netflix and/or sell DVDs of it. Aren't all animu dialog scenes just a static shot with a mouth cycling between 2 states?

Re: TFS got copyright struck again
True for the most part, but proper animu episodes have them switch to different poses every now and then. Also there are far more scenes with actual movement surrounding the dialogue.
What abridged shows usually do is just a step away from the last couple NGE episodes where they framed scenes in such a way that they didn't even have to animate mouths at all.

Re: TFS got copyright struck again
I think you're right, though they have artists on staff already so they could easily make something dialogue heavy for the first couple of episodes where it cuts back and forth, with some panning to make it look like there's movement, and then use the same three mouth types for all the characters. Once they start generating some views, hire another animator, and then work their way up.
