Re: Weebshit Thread
Shounenshit is very much like internet nobodies in that regard: Even if you've turned into complete garbage and a mere shell of your former self, some sad Cuckson-tier blokes will still follow you, for the sake of their favorite characters and because you've helped them through dark times.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Shounen appeals to its stated target demographic of teenage boys and a bit younger. Every teenager goes through bullshit as part of growing up and dealing with school. It's only natural they latch onto their shit-tier shounen waifus and husbandos even when the show either stopped being good or was never good in the first place.
Don't ask me why the fuck I read Bleach when I was a kid. That shit was awful. But there's still fans of it out there somewhere.
I think One Piss is a pretty good formula for these endless shounen series. It's a bunch of stupid adventures with characters the fans recognize and like. Each arc is fairly unconnected from the last. As a franchise, it works well because there's always some new adventure to sell to the fanbase. Sort of like the Simpsons, right? You tune in and watch an adventure with characters you like. That format is great for wringing tardbucks out of fans forever.
With Narutard and InuyASSha, they had to keep upping the retard stakes higher and higher because the story had a stated goal. The fucking jewel shards could never be 100% collected because then the show would end and money would stop.

Bleach had potential, but after the first arc they should've kept it slow to develop all the characters. Instead everyone got cool powers which were good for one fight and then Ichigo would somehow save everyone by yelling and bleeding a lot. You could easily also tell by arc three that they were making up combinations aa they went along.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 12:07 am

Naruto Shippuden was pretty great up to and through the Pain arc, which was done excellently. The problem is, the last final battle arc aragged WAAAAY too long and went in weird directions.

Shippuden through the pain arc was the one bright spot in all of naruto. But it's still a very small portion of naruto as a whole and most of the rest of it is shit.
I can think of way more good arcs in One Piss than I can Narutard. Skypeia, Thriller Bark, Fishman Pirates, and Eneis Lobby are some off the top of my head.

Re: Weebshit Thread
You better be talking about the animu because the mango is poorly drawn shit. I don't just mean ugly either, I mean "I don't know what the fuck is going on with the action scene, it's just random lines everywhere". I only knew what was happening in the early volumes because I saw the much superior anime, the only advantage it has in the ending not being rushed crap and actually having some big stakes but that is cancelled out by Legato having a much better death with a moment that is never topped in the anime or manga.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:03 am
Also I just wanna add that rurouni kenshin isn't all that amazing. I had a few volumes kicking around and I tried to read them a year or so ago. Shit has aged like milk. Trigun is better than kenshin in every way.
If anyone says the manga is better than the anime with Trigun they are a lying shithead.

I never read the manga, but I liked the anime. How much of the manga have you read and what makes the anime superior?

All of it, including Maximum. The main issue is that the art is so fucking bad that you don't know what is going on during an action scene, it's just sketchy fucking lines everywhere. The artist was probably rushed and half assed those bits, and the art in general isn't very good.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 6:47 amI never read the manga, but I liked the anime. The early parts are the same as the anime, shot for shot but poorly drawn. In some ways it does go a bit more in depth about the backstory of Knives and Vash and the planet they are on, and the ending climax being a whole space ship full of cryogenically frozen people about to be shot down by knives is much better than the two brothers randomly facing each other and fighting for 2 fucking minutes in the anime.
There is a lot more story and while it is not bad nothing reaches the heights of Legato's death and him making Vash kill him to go against his principles. That is not in the manga, Legato dies like any other fucking villain and it has no where near as much impact like it did with Vash making him fucking depressed and breaking him mentally. It turns into No More Heroes a bit from what I remember with 7 (I think) of Knives minions needing to be killed like bosses in No More Heroes, with Legato being one of them.
The manga's main issue is that it clearly needed a fucking editor, I refuse to believe the author had one. The art is rushed shit and ruins many scenes that I can tell are supposed to be grand, epic showdowns but lose their impact because I don't know what the fuck happened. Wolfwood's death in it was meant to be a big deal but I had no idea he died until a few pages later because the art was so fucking bad I couldn't tell he died. And there is some new edgelord character that I gave no fucks about who is on Vash's side. It clearly adds more to the story and tries to develop it more but it is cheaply and poorly done.

Nightow has had a series called Cuckkai Sansen running in Jump for the last few years and i never bothered to check if he draws less bad now.

Re: Weebshit Thread
Damn, thanks for going into so much detail. I guess overall, it seems like the anime definitely is superior to the manga. But, as always seems to be the case, the manga does go into more backstory versus the anime. I would have liked for the anime to be as comprehensive as the manga, but I suppose that the anime would have needed another season to do so. I really was disappointed with the pat ending of the anime. Fighting Knives for 2 minutes really doesn't do justice to their relationship. I was really wanting more.

I meant the Trigun anime is better, yes. The mangos look like ass. Nightow's work always looks better animated.
