I actually watched one of her Anime News Editorial videos years ago. It was about a news story where an underage girl met some man at an anime convention and she had run away with him. (Basically, grooming + kidnapping.) She (rightly) criticized the news media for using an old picture of the girl from before she had died her hair, etc. It was a completely unremarkable video, but she would probably be criticized for victim blaming or something in current year.

So here's the prevailing opinion on ResetEra about the Jussie Smollett shitshow. It's rather off-topic, but it speaks to the kind of mentality that we're dealing with these days, and it speaks volumes about people who constantly pound the "stand with victims" drum:

This is one post I clipped out of a much larger image, and the responses were pretty much all in line with this. It was wrong of people to cast doubt... EVEN WHEN THEY TURNED OUT TO BE RIGHT. It is not an exaggeration to say that the truth actually, literally does not matter to these people.
