A therapist is different from a psychiatrist. A therapist/counselor/psychologist listens to you sperg about your problems but they don't usually prescribe medication.

At least in Burgerland, a psychiatrist is the only one of those positions qualified to prescribe meds, since it requires an MD. In any case, Memes is correct in that years ago, Noah posted some shit about failing to see results from whoever he was seeing at the time because his enormous galaxy brain was just too complicated for the pleb to understand. That was his interpretation, anyway. The truth, of course, is that the patient needs to actually want the help being offered. Take that as it sounds.
