TRANSformers may be the most retarded thing SJW's have ever come up with, and that's saying a lot. They're robots that turn into cars. Sure there are "female" transformers, but it's the equivalent of a laptop cover being pink with a flower print. They don't reproduce sexually, despite what all the sick perverts who make up the fandom now would like to believe. Anything saying otherwise is a blatant retcon, since they made new transformers repeatedly in G1 with energon and space magic. Why would they ever worry about being the wrong "gender"?

That's essentially what the conversations among old school fans boiled down to. To me, it sounded like the writer of that transbot plot wanted a self-insert or a soapbox. They didn't count on the parent company wanting to merchandise the hell out of their new toy line.

I chatted with one of my buddies and he gave me a rundown of the transbots plots for the IDW. You ready for stupid?

1. In "Optimus Prime" (originally "Robots in Disguise"), Arcee was a twin of Galvatron and originally male. Another Transformer (Shockwave or Jhiaxus) kidnapped him and forced a sex change on him.
2. In "Lost Light" (originally "More Than Meets the Eye"), there was another bot named Anode who decided to identify as female "because it felt right."

In the right hands, sexless space robots contemplating gender could make an interesting subplot, especially if they wanted to expand their knowledge of organic life forms. But there are no capable writers to carry this out.
