I've had shoes by the same manufacturer of different sizes, shirts that were all over the place and on pants it sometimes seems completely random. That's a different thing - unlike you cavemen who measure things with legs, fingers, fucking stones, spoons and cups (my favourite, because it often doesn't resemble real cups or spoons, unles burgers have super large cups and spoons as well, the filthy overeating slobs) and who knows what else, we've figured out how to measure things more precisely so it's not a confusing bullshit.
Unless you live in a forest and you literally need to measure everything with your fucking body or whatever you can scavenge, there is no need to settle for less convenient system.
