Ahh, Dance in the Vampire Bund? I could never bring myself to even give that series a chance for obvious reasons. And hey, Kaze is still rad, Zeyphrmon even more so. I love Frontier come at me.

Isn't Zephyrmon basically that bird lady from Devilman? I would say that ought to give her a point deduction because of a lack of originality, but then again there are a shitload of Digimon villains who rip off the Phantom of the Paradise helmet.

For me, the best part of Frontier is when the final villain hulks out into some rad satan dragon. Or the fact the good guy's ultimate fusion whatever isn't some lame palette swap like in Digimon Tri.

Saw Grindelwald today, it was alright. The plot was a convoluted mess mostly designed to set up future films and some of the character arcs were contrived(apart from Ezra Miller, no one has a really convincing reason for joining Johnny Depp), but it was visually spectacular, the cast was pretty good and it was a major step-up from the last movie(that one felt like two different movies rammed together, whereas this one has a consistently dark tone).

Depp is pretty good as the villain, and I'd argue he's even a bit too restrained for someone who is supposed to be defined by his charisma.

Also, implying that the visuals were what made this crap "OK" is like saying graphics are more important than gameplay in a video game or a hamburger without the patty itself between the buns comes off as "decent". Don't do that.

The characters were all likable and had great chemistry with one another, plus I enjoy the wizarding world setting. As an experience, it was alright. If the plot hadn't been so cooked up(it really felt like Rowling was trying to do 20 things at once and when she realised she had to tie them all together, she just had Grindelwald be behind every random thing that happens in the movie so all the characters could end up at one place for the climax), it would've been a great movie.
