With the birthright thing I tend to think it's bullshit that you get a free pass for being born here, however if you grow up in the US you tend to know about the US so its fairly pointless to make them test.

People are arguing it's unconstitutional but the 14th amendment doesn't really clarify birthrights.

As far as I can tell, it's unconstitutional regardless of the 14th Amendment simply because rules regarding citizenship are set by congress, not the president.

But even if it were a law passed by congress, after reading up a bit with the history and relevant case law, it seems essentially certain that (for better or for worse) the Fourteenth Amendment does confer automatic citizenship to children of immigrants whether the immigrants are legal or not. That might be bad policy, but to change it you need to pass a new amendment.
