So many people say that but I disagree. I think it's where the series went to shit. It just went all silly, leading to the absolutely atrocious 3rd movie.

Yeah, it is silly as fuck and cartoonish. But that's what I like about it. The entire series should not be taken seriously, imo.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:38 amSo many people say that but I disagree. I think it's where the series went to shit. Re: Movie Thread
why even watch movies if you don't expect silliness? They're all stupid, even the good ones.

Re: Movie Thread
The first movie was serious. The transition is jarring and then the third movie is silly PG13 direct to video garbage.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:45 amYeah, it is silly as fuck and cartoonish. But that's what I like about it. The entire series should not be taken seriously, imo.
I understand why you like the second movie. I still don't see how it could follow the first one.
Fair enough. I guess that's why I tend to dislike movies.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:46 amwhy even watch movies if you don't expect silliness? They're all stupid, even the good ones.

Isn't that technically true of the Evil Dead franchise?Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:50 amThe first movie was serious. The second movie is a shit sequel to the first one, admittedly. But it's a fun movie on its own.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:50 amI understand why you like the second movie. I still don't see how it could follow the first one.
Edit: Rushy is correct in his Evil Dead comparison.

Re: Movie Thread
I guess it kind of is. Just that the second Evil Dead is pretty much a remake that pretends the first movie didn't even exist. With Mad Max, the first movie does exist but we're going from weird planetary crisis to post-apocalyptic world so fast you get whiplash.
I'm not saying MM2 is garbage or anything. I just like the whole feel of the first one better.

Re: Movie Thread
It's almost like there's an entire movie or something missing between Mad Max 1 - 2. I don't even remember if the exposition dump at the start of Mad Max 2 was one of those really long ones or not.

Re: Movie Thread
First Mad Max is slow and boring, Road Warrior is fun, Thunderdome is mediocure and Fury Road is really fun.
Was enjoying Blackkklanman until the end when Spike Lee ends his goofy comedy set in the 70's with 10 minutes of real footage from Charlottesville. The racist nigger should've just made a film about that.
