I heard somewhere that Doge doesn't pick his own films to review anymore, so I think now it's just whatever Michaud watched(or googled) that week.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 27, 2018 12:33 pmTerrible, like all his others. Pretty ballsy for him to lie and nitpick such a classic film rather than a forgettable children’s cartoon. Though considering his fan base consists of kids who want to see “funny clown man shout” I doubt they would be able to pull him up on it.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:41 amSo about that review of Night of the Living Dead

Michaud doesn't work. He lets people work for him.

For me Night of the Living Dead is unwatchable, and may be one of the most overrated movies ever. I don't know, it just seems to be one of those things people like because they're supposed to like it.

A great review, have you ever thought about becoming a film critic? You’d just need to add the words “gross” and “problematic” every so often and you’re good to go

It’s decent. It created a new horror subgenre, but it’s one of those movies that a lot of people know about but haven’t seen. When I mention that the zombies in this one move fast and act somewhat intelligent, people say that’s not how zombies are supposed to act.
I got the DVD years ago as a gift. When I looked at the back, I saw that Michael J. Nelson had done a commentary track for it.

It's also very problematic because a black guy gets shot.

Well, wasn't that the intentional point? IIRC Romero was making a statement there how blacks were treated as a second class citizens in murica, how that guy who shot him didn't really even care was he a zombie or not. Romero was being an SJW 50 years ahead of its time!VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:52 pmIt's also very problematic because a black guy gets shot.
I agree with pibbs, NotLD isn't really that good, but I do appreciate it as a trailblazer of its genre.

It's fine. If one is interested in the genre at all, one should've watched it at some point. For it's time, it's good. At least it doesn't drag out for hours and hours like current Disney shit.
