You guys are overlooking something important: Spawn and Blade both exude raw (toxic) masculinity. The black men in comics these days aren't any more exempt from complete emasculation than white men. If they are picked up again they'll both become frappuccino sipping, Joss Whedon sounding wimps, borderline groveling before every female character they share a panel with.

Luke Cage is still fairly masculine. I assume this is due to the efforts of Brian Michael Bendis, who wants Luke Cage to fuck his wife or something.

Tomb of Dracula, yeah. In general I find horror comics more tolerable than capeshit, even though not one horror comic I have ever read succeded un being scary. Mostly it's just gore porn and cool monsters.

I feel like not having sound hurts print horror material a lot.

This, sound is one of horror media's greatest assets. Half of what makes The Thing so terrifying for instance is the ungodly fucking noises it makes when its gore sperging.

Well, a lot of horror comics - at least the early ones - were mostly camp, so a spooky atmosphere wasn't too important. Probably figured they couldn't make it 2sp00ky4me anyways, so they made it fun.

As for Spawn, he's basically dead. For real this time around. Niggers didn't even remember him when they went full retard with the whole >muh black panther shit, claiming him to be the first nigger hero.

It's easy for normalfags to forget Spawn's black in the first place seeing how he's mostly remembered with his mask on and has a face so burnt/rotten that he could be any ethnicity.
