Dude, that sounds like some shit that they would actually do.

The merchant in RE8 would sell you guns, but no ammo, just like RE4 and 5. But right at the top of the merchant's list, every time you opened up the shop menu, you'd see "handgun ammo," "TMP ammo," "shotgun shells." And instead of the price being listed in fictional RE yuan or lira or drachma or francs, it would be 2 real-world dollars for 20 shotgun shells or some shit.

I can totally see that happening. Oh and you just know additional costumes like the RCDP outfit and special guns such as the Chicago Typewriter would be paid DLC. They're never, EVER giving those away for free again. That's just an established fact. Rev 2's raid mode had a shit-ton of microtransactions in it btw.
