That's the biggest load of bullshit I've ever read. Truman did nothing wrong because nuking Japan never is. But an entire city doesn't count as a military base.

If Truman
hadn't nuked Japan the only other option would've been a full scale invasion. This would have extended the war by two years and cost the Allies heavy casualties. In addition Truman would have had to ask for help from Stalin which meant that Japan would've been cut in half like North Korea and Postwar Germany were.

The comic book writer Chuck Dixon actually did do a six part miniseries based on Operation Olympic (what they would have called the invasion of Japan). It's not an animu and I haven't read it so I don't actually know if it's any good, but it's something at least.
