When someone says "diabetes is not a stigma," they should be referring to type 1. Those are the ones where it's not really their fault.
I know a guy who is Type 1 that is in pretty good shape and healthy weight. Sucks that he has to take expensive insulin shots occasionally throughout the day, but that's genetics for you.
