I remember coming upon the original slenderman story listening to Mr. Creepypasta way before slenderman blew up and I thought it was a pretty interesting horror story compared to all the shitty game pastas or cartoon theories. But yeah this slenderfag trend took something that was pretty interesting and turned it into shit. If not for them slenderman would have made a prety good campfire story.

I do have to admit that there was some YT series of dudes basically pretending Slen0rmenz existed that went quickly so fucking retarded that it was pretty kino. I'm talking about time travel, other dimensions and possessions.

I prefer foreign horror films based on traditional myths because they're even more strange and interesting when a western mind has no point of reference. Everyone pretty much knows the deal with zamboni movies now and other western horror films. That said, obviously the nip shit has been done to fucking death. The only jap horror movies I like are the original ju-on, Kuroneko, Onibaba and Kwaidan.

Mushishi isn't horror but it easily could be I guess. Uzumaki was good and no I don't mean narutard. Most horror shit nowadays is so fucking derivative. I deliberately avoided all mentions of slendermans when it started showing up in the mainstream because it looked like another forced normy meme. Don't forget to do the ice bucket challenge on the way to watch that slenderman video! Man, five nights at freddies is so cool and scary isn't it guiz? I was so afraid when the big muppet appeared 2 inches in front of my face without warning that one every single time.

I guess that's because Glorious Nippon likes to set an unsettling mood, whereas the garbage meme horror tries to jump scare you with CGI animatronics or sudden distortions.

I'd say there's also limited horror factor in someone like Slendy who's trying his best to not move. Really makes him depend on the scenery. I mean, imagine some horror film where the protagonist kept seeing a Slendy-like being just standing* in the streets, with all the pedestrians walking by as if they couldn't see him.

*) Or better yet moving. If you already have some uncanny valley critter, you might as well have him move in ways that man was never meant to move.
