I did watch Zeta Gundam in its entirety. It was OK, I guess. There was some stuff I loved and then other parts were very meh. I remember two different lead female characters each switched sides for no explicable reason. One of them said something nonsensical like "the captain doesn't accept me as a woman" as her reasoning for defecting to the Space Nazis.

That is the kind of Tomino shit that I can't stand. And they even fucked up the abridged movie versions because the voice director replaced the original voice actresses with random chicks from his casting couch.

Those Gundam OVAs that Sunrise did in the 90s had much tighter storytelling IMHO. I wouldn't mind rewatching those.
