This is my thinking as well. I mean this is a guy who spent over $10k just getting everyone to set when he easily could have spent way less if he had researched and thought out his options.

The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made!

The idea being that this was a film that Gonzo directed. Kermit was too busy so when Gonzo asked, Kermit said, "Sure, go ahead. I can't take on the responsibilities behind the scenes at this time, but I'll perform in it." So Gonzo wrote this cheesy, terrible plot that made absolutely no sense whatsoever about something being stolen that led to a chase around the world. Unfortunately Gonzo blows half the movie's budget on the opening titles! So as the film progresses, it gets cheaper and cheaper where they're using a shot of the same street corner for every city in the world!

I'm not disagreeing with you guys at all. It's just funny how much Linkara mimics parody.

Of course he could have hired community theater actors from Minnesota for hundreds of dollars, gotten better performances, and put the money saved on transportation and lodging back into the the actual production of the film... but no. All he knew was "Doge used TGWTG contributors for his movie, so I have to as well."

The muppet movie fits so well it's hilarious. I keep remembering somewhere he spent $30k or something on the set, which was made before the movie, started, so if he paid $40k before he even started filming, it wouldn't be surprising he used it all. (Does anyone know where that stat about the set cost was? I can't remember and am wondering if it was a rumour I thought was real)

And I'm convinced this was a TGWTG anniversary idea he recycled because it really doesn't have much to do with Linkara aside from using his characters and his villain. Everything else is from To Boldly Flee.

Lewis is definitely enough of a sperg to make thinly disguised TGWTG fanfiction into a movie... so I'd buy that he was trying to make his own tbf sequel after Doge said no or something.

This is especially hilarious considering the set itself was wasted thanks to shitty lighting and the fact that this was the only set in the entire movie and everything else was just an empty room or shots from his own house. Money well spent.

That's another problem with their shit. They refuse to do anything that might depar even slightly from their tgwtg output. They pander exclusively to the channel awesome fan boys rather than try and create anything that can remotely stand on its own. Brad tried to do non-site related films once... but now even he just goes for the easy money from the people he knows will slurp up anything.
